With the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, travelling now comes with a few more challenges. Take a look at these handy tips before jumping on your plane to Shire of Jericho:

• Before you lock in a flight, see if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get up-to-date information by checking government websites.
• When you go through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it for ID purposes. Those who refuse to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, place your pass on the scanner and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Place any personal items (keys, wallet and phone) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• If you're planning to take food on the plane, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
